Events and Programmes
Youth and Community Engagement
I have spearheaded many projects targeted towards my peers. Some of them were one-off events, while others were ongoing programmes. All the programmes I was a part of reflected my personal interests and hopes for social change. Among these projects include:
Resc.you (established 2021)
A student-led campaign to protect women on campus against sexual harassment. Informational posts were produced for social media circulation and on-campus talks were hosted to promote the initiative.
The Myth and Magic of Asia (2022)
An online folklore sharing event for the diverse student body to share the storytelling traditions of their respective cultures.
Kemensah Literacy Mission (established 2022)
A volunteer programme that is still active today, where students give biweekly reading and writing lessons to Indigenous children.
Museum of Asian Art Engagement Event (2023) A collaboration with Universiti Malaya’s Museum of Asian Art to attract more visitors to the museum. Activities included exclusively curated student-led tours and interactive games to connect visitors with the exhibits.
Being the director of all of these events (except Resc.you), I coordinated all organisational and operational tasks, on top of undertaking many impromptu duties and tasks as required.
