Media Communications
My very first corporate stint was as a Media Communications intern at Petronas in 2023-2024. The department was in charge of all communication and relationships between the company and news/media outlets worldwide.
I worked at the Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur where my responsibilities included monitoring daily media coverage, disseminating press releases, facilitating interviews and carrying stakeholder engagement activities. I was able to apply my writing abilities too as I frequently composed, edited and reviewed official documents and articles.
I was also able to contribute in the planning and execution of a big event. The annual Media Appreciation night hosted 300 local and international journalists and media stakeholders. I assisted in booking the venue, liaising with vendors, managing the guest list and other preparations ahead and on the day of the event.
