Tails and Tales
Exhibition

The knowledge and skills I gained as an MA Curating Cultures student, including tailored modules and hands-on learning, culminated into an exhibition titled “Tails and Tales”. Hosted at the SOAS Library, it was on display from March until May 2025.
I have always been fascinated by the myths, legends and folklore of the world. Storytelling traditions are found in every culture and are a cornerstone of the human experience. Inspired by this notion and being drawn to the various animal representations in SOAS’s teaching collection, my team and I decided to curate “Tails and Tales : A Compendium of Animal Stories”. The exhibition positions the zoomorphic artefacts as vessels of collective cultural memory, highlighting the associated narratives above the visuality and physicality of the objects.
Together, we saw through the exhibition development from its conception to final execution. Our tasks included object handling, condition reporting, portfolio-writing, installation, exhibition marketing, feedback collection and more.
